Hometings is a curated homewares collection, with individual products sourced from all over the world (from Buenos Aires and Brussels to my small town in Florida). You can browse and buy here. Every other week, I'll send you three favorite tings: a Hometings product, an outdoor space & an indoor space.
This week is fully UK themed, coming off of a Christmas holiday spent with one of my dear friends Nico at his families home in Surrey. We feature his moms Arts & Crafts he is restoring & book stores in London plus a special Hometings collection (also UK themed).
An indoor/outdoor space: The Potters Home, Surrey UK
I spent Christmas with my dear friend Nico, whose mom closed on an Arts & Crafts house the day I arrived. We popped a bottle of Champagne and did a walk through that evening - the previous owners had made adjustments to the home but it still retained all of the charm from when it was first built in 1904. A particular highlight was the fireplaces, which were present in every room and have the original glazed tiles made by the local pottery when the house was built.
Nico, who is one of the most talented people I know, is project managing the renovation and once that is complete, the interior decoration himself. I have had the pleasure of watching his vision for flair come to life in various capacities over the past 9 years (from the parties he throws to the rooms he decorates) so I am very excited to see how this space comes to life.
These photos, from when I visited in December, are already way outdated, you should follow progress on The Potter’s Home here.

An indoor space: London Book & Magazine shops
I could spend a week exploring all of London’s amazing book & magazine stores - each one is bursting with personality and such gorgeous finds. I was incessant on finding a copy of Kennedy magazine for a Christmas present and using their London stocklist, the search led us to Tender Books, which said they wished they carried it so I bought The Position of Spoons instead (very much not the same). The helpful staff at Tender books said no one but potentially Shreeji Newsagents carried it in the city so we took a very expensive (far more the price of the magazine) uber across town time to Shreeji Newsagents where we walked into a treasure trove of incredible magazines, I ended up getting a magazine focused on Todd Hido instead - we never got the Kennedy magazine but it ended up not being the point.

Hometings: UK Collection
Nico and I share a deep love of life’s best indulgences: Nyetimber, long pub lunches, and antiquing. Each time I visit we end up on the high street of a small country town visiting each charity shop on the strip, which we did this past time for an entire day. But nothing spoke to me so we took to the true antique stores to source for Hometings. The one that I found the most in was a truly chaotic space with dust everywhere and nothing organized, you had to really hunt for gems but when you found them they were so special - like the Retro Fratelli Guzzini plastic tumblers designed by Paolo Tilche which are part of many permanent collections of museums worldwide, such as the Philadelphia Museum Of Art. Or the vintage stainless steel salt and pepper shakers, made in the UK. The final piece of the haul was mid century candle holders which are coming soon :)
