Hometings is a curated homewares collection, with individual products sourced from all over the world (from Buenos Aires and Brussels to my small town in Florida). You can browse and buy here. Every other week, I'll send you three favorite tings: a Hometings product, an outdoor space & an indoor space.
This week is NY themed, coming off of a visit for my dear friend Jena’s wedding, time spent with friends and meeting with Travel Advisors to chat Asia :). We feature a very charming upstate restaurant with the best bread ever and a walk in lower manhattan with stops for pizza, art and furniture plus cartoonishly large wine glasses.
An indoor space: Stissing House
I went upstate to visit my friend Kelley, the sweetest human there ever was, and her husband Devon (also very sweet!) for time spent lounging at their house upstate. This was very full circle because last year while we were in Morocco we shopped for rugs and lamps for their space as it was being built. To see it almost complete with these pieces was so special.
A highlight of the trip was dinner at Stissing House, a tavern in a building dating to 1782, serving simple and incredible food. Because Kelley and Devon are locals they go often so I deferred to them to order and it was stupendous. The food was so fresh and tasted amazing but what I remember most were the indulgences, the Negronis we all had, the bread and butter (which I still think about daily) and the sundae at the end. The interior was also incredible - candles everywhere…everywhere! My kind of place.

An indoor/outdoor space: Art Galleries of Lower Manhattan & Pizza on the street
It was way too cold to pick an outdoor space so I picked a hybrid version. Walking outside to grab a drink with my friend Ross (at Primo's, inside) I stopped along the way for a slice of pizza and ate it outside in between visits to galleries and showrooms that I always wanted to visit but never had time to when I was coming up every three weeks for work despite walking this route everyday from the apartment to the office. Finally, with this being a work/fun (mostly) hybrid trip I had the time, here were my stops:

Hometings: Extra Large Wine Glasses
I have never seen wine glasses like this before, I think they look like the wine glass emoji but 3x the normal size with outrageous quality, crystal glass (impressive considering they are from the 1970’s). I was so drawn to them for the cartoonish size and the fact that they really are the perfect wine glass - I am excited to have a small dinner party to impress people with how outlandish they are (until they go to a new home of course, they can be purchased here :)).
